EcoDataCenter
Intro
EcoDataCenter applies Sylva™ mass timber kit components to meet the stringent security and fire-safety standards required by large-scale data warehouses. The facility is designed to address rising demand for AI and cloud infrastructure while minimizing carbon emissions.
A Mass Timber Data Center That Meets Security and Fire-Safety Standards
Located in Falun, Sweden, EcoDataCenter is one of the largest data centers in the country, designed by Nordisk Kombination Arkitekter AB.
EcoDataCenter is powered exclusively by renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and hydro, and draws on the surrounding renewable energy ecosystem, while also using low-carbon materials throughout construction. The result is an operational model that meets growing demand for AI and cloud systems while minimizing carbon emissions.
An 80,000 m² Campus Built as Six Modular Halls
Construction of mass timber data center buildings totaling roughly 35,000 m² has been underway since 2017, and the EcoDataCenter 1 campus is now being expanded once again with the addition of Halls E and F.
The campus spans 80,000 m² and consists of six buildings, each offering 3,400 m² of free space and up to 8 MW of power and cooling capacity. The modular design allows for further expansion, making it an ideal option for enterprises with growing cloud and AI demand.
Phased Construction
The first four buildings (A, B, C, and D) were completed between 2018 and 2024 across two phases, using low-emission construction techniques and materials.
The remaining two buildings, E and F, are currently under construction.
